Hands-On Community Work
During a 6-day social service expedition to a remote village in Almora, Uttarakhand, our student team worked alongside local residents to build infrastructure for an underprivileged school.
Our goal was constructing concrete boundary walls and clear road pathways to protect the school grounds and make the village route safer for children.
Field Realities
- Manual Labor: Carrying materials, mixing concrete, and laying stone foundations under harsh weather builds genuine respect for manual craftsmanship.
- Local Connectivity: Improving physical school access directly boosted daily student attendance in the village.
- Teamwork Under Constraint: Working with limited physical tools required clear task distribution and team coordination.
True community service means working shoulder-to-shoulder with communities to build lasting physical utility.
