Driving Technical Adoption
Serving as a student representative on the Technology Council provided a clear look at how institutional infrastructure decisions are evaluated, budgeted, and executed. One of my primary initiatives was advocating for smart board integration in classrooms.
Transitioning from traditional chalkboards to interactive digital displays required presenting clear arguments to school leadership, faculty, and technical teams.
Implementation Steps
- Needs Assessment: Documented how interactive displays would benefit subjects like Mathematics Analysis and Physics HL through dynamic visual plotting and diagram annotations.
- Infrastructure Audits: Collaborated with school IT teams to evaluate network bandwidth, room layouts, and hardware compatibility.
- Faculty Onboarding: Helped organize simple peer training sessions to make sure teachers felt confident using the new software tools from day one.
Upgrading technology across an institution requires bridging the gap between hardware capabilities and daily classroom routines.
